The South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) brings together the local authorities of Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield to serve the communities and businesses of South Yorkshire. From transport to housing, economic growth to skills, the MCA has a great story to tell. These two roles will be instrumental in building on our achievements to date, and achieving our remarkable potential. It’s a real chance to shift the dial.

Working closely with our elected Mayor and Chief Executive, each role will hold accountability for a discrete but connected theme of our ambitious programme. With our new Level 4 Devolution Deal in place, we believe that South Yorkshire can and will be the place that sets the pace, and we’re looking for two experienced and visionary public servants who are hungry to shape a better future for everyone who calls South Yorkshire their home, their workplace, or their destination.

You’ll need experience in a strategic civic role, but will also understand the granular detail of how local services are experienced by those who use them. Our unique place in the regional ecosystem means that we can work beyond precedent, and you’ll relish the opportunity to think differently about big, important and exciting challenges.
