Liverpool council’s ‘ethical’ housing company submit plans for 107 homes

Lovell Homes have submitted plans on behalf of Liverpool City Council’s ‘ethical’ housing company, Foundations, for over 100 new homes in the Yew Tree area of Liverpool

Foundations was launched last year, with Mayor Joe Anderson saying more than 10,000 homes could be built by the company over the next 10 years.

The Yew Tree scheme is to include 107 homes on a vacant plot of land which was formerly occupied by council housing.

There will be a ‘number’ of affordable properties available for sale and to rent, and subject to planning permission building work will begin in January 2019. There will also be ‘bespoke’ housing for foster carers, large families, the elderly and the disabled.

Frank Hont, chairman of Foundations, said: ‘We’re very pleased to see that plans are progressing for this exciting development for the Denford Road area, which we hope will help to change the lives of hundreds of families across north Liverpool.

‘These proposals are the first of a number of housing projects that Foundations will be delivering over the coming years, creating modern and spacious places to live and helping to transform communities across our city with quality, affordable homes.

‘As we continue to move forward with our plans, we’re looking forward to working closely with the surrounding community to make this scheme a great success and create real change for the Yew Tree neighbourhood.’

Bruce Lister, project manager at Lovell Partnerships, said: ‘We’ve listened closely to the local community prior to submitting the planning application and their views have been essential is helping us to shape the final proposals.

‘We’ll continue to build on this partnership to ensure the community is kept at the heart of the project and we’re looking forward to working with Foundations to deliver this major development for the people of Yew Tree.’
